Mid last month, Pete "the Boss" Burke and Brent Hoy headed off to Las Vegas, US of A, to take in the sights of Interbike. Interbike is the bike worlds way of showing off the lastest and greatest products to the rest of the industry and indeed, those who buy from it as well.
It had been some years since Pete had made this pilgrimage, but someone has to do the hard yards, and him and Brent Hoy were up for it
Of course a big part of Las Vegas is the sights, the smells, and the bars.
The boys sampled many drinks, but they didn't inhale
Expect when they saw this pricelist
Part of the whole interbike setup is the demo days, where you can get the chance to ride the lastest and greatest. Both Pete and Brent took advantage of this and rode a mix of bikes, including....
Santa Cruz Carbon Nomad
Surly Pugsley....., well they were in the desert!!
Turner 5 spot
Giant Trance
Indeed, Pete gave Tara a good hard ride
And Brent even rode a 29er. Needless to say, Brent now knows
Pete was particulary taken with the Rock Shox truck
Even the other pirates couldn't tear him away
Inside the "air-conditioned" show they saw some very cool things
Like this Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious F1 painted Intense M9 (look for some bike builds of some black ones of these to come soon to this blog)
Syndicate Santa Cruz V-10
Santa Cruz bikes plural, including the new lime green
Sam Hill's world championship winning Specialized Demo 8
Girly-fied American Classic road wheels
Some very bright coloured Eclat BMX parts
And bringing Pete well and truly back to his BMX roots were these gorgeous Chrome We The People bars
They even had a fashion show
And some bling for your cruiser. Pete said these pics were for his daughter, but we suspect that was a ruse
and finally some Smurf coloured 5-10 shoes. Rumour has it that Alex nearly fainted when he saw these pics, as they really complete his smurf coloured BMX.
More Interbike pics to come from the lense Of Brent Hoy in the very near future
