Momma, Pimp my ride

One of our lovely customers wanted to go riding with her kids. Problem is, she found her little ones struggling with stock kids bikes when off-road due to the weight.

Now as any self respecting mountainbiker knows, the way to fix this problem is with bling, weight weenie bling.
Vicki spent many many hours traversing the internet and asked many many questions.
For her son, she found a Scott Scale 24" bike from overseas, and moved the lil 20" Scott from Luka, down to her daughter.
First we took off the pads covering up the girly stickers and it then went on a drastic diet.
Some cut down Truvativ Isoflow cranks were sought so her lil legs didn't have to spin in massive circles.

Lighter stem, Carbon riser bars, Sram Red front deraileur, Sram XO Twist shifters and rear deraileur, very fruity and light KCNC V-brakes,and a lighter seatpost were all some of the things collected for this weight change.
Stock wheels were way too heavy, so they were replaced with Circus Monkey Road hubs and Alex ace20 rims.
The new wheels saved several hundred grams, and weight a nice svelte 1200grams for the pair.

Slapped onto the freehub was the very light and uber bling 9speed powerdrome cassette. Just like it's XX 10speed brother, 7 of the cogs are machined out of a solid block of steel.

Due to the tiny nature of the seat-tube, a wee cable mount had to be manufactured up for the front deraileur. Luckily a rack mount was in the perfect spot.

In total the bike now weighs in at 19.5 pounds, or if you like 8.9 Kg's

(24" bike to follow soon)
