Bad Boy Bubby is not just a movie....

Not to be confused with a certain, dubious Australian movie, the Cannondale Bad Boy Disc (surprisngly named "Bubby" & referred to herewith as "BBB") is my ride of choice when it comes to pumping out some road k's.
An alloy-framed stealth monster, the BBB will take either a 26" MTB tyre or a 700c road tyre - in my case I run the bigger size wheels to help those pesky k's pass just that little bit faster.
Impressively specced, the BBB is good to go out of the box, however, working in a bike shop means that upgrading parts is actually a requirement, rather than an option.
So, what did I change? It seems everything bar the frame/fork (much to my horror)!, so here goes;
  • pedals - CrankBros ACID 2.0
  • h/bar - RaceFace Next Carbon flat bar
  • s/post - RaceFace Next Carbon SL
  • saddle - Specialized Alias
  • b/ends - Specialized Carbon Over Ends
  • shifters - Shimano 10spd flat bar
  • brakes - Hayes Carbon Trail Stroker disc
  • stem - RaceFace Deus
  • chain - Shimano DuraAce 10spd
  • cranks - Truvativ Noir carbon (with c/rings)
  • cassette - Shimano Ultegra 11-23 10spd
  • wheels - Mavic SpeedCity disc
  • tyres - Schwalbe Marathon +
So, after all that, was it worth it? Well, naturally I'm going to vote in the affirmative, and maybe, just maybe, after I pass you on your light-as, carbon-rattler around the Miramar pennisula, and you suddenly realise that BBB is no greyhound & neither is the rider, you'll believe it was as well.
